Blog Lovin' and Thursday Blues.

Oh Thursday.. how I wish you were Friday.

This "Spring Forward" time change has rocked our WORLD. Em is just now getting used to going to bed at the new 7:45.. and my first graders are just now starting to calm down from their sleep deprivation craziness. {Right before the weekend starts of course.}

"Wait.. you want me to go to bed an hour early just because the time has changed? Silly Mama."

After school today, Em and I spent the afternoon reading Pat The Bunny {at least 5 times} and looking at fuzzy farm animal books. She is SO into books lately, especially ones that ask her to do something.

She can't get over playing peek-a-boo with Paul, smelling the flowers, and putting her finger in Mommy's ring. If you don't have a copy of this little book - you should MOST DEFINITELY go get it tomorrow. At Target. Wherever your favorite store is.. Like Target.  :)

Em also loves cuddling with her stuffed animals.. like to the point of tackling them on the floor.. 

Every. Single. Time. And it's probably the cutest thing I've ever seen.

Happy Little Saturday

It's a beautiful day in South Carolina! We played outside all morning at a birthday party. Em napped on the car ride home, so when we got home, we played outside some more. Now - she is fast asleep upstairs. I've checked on her a few times using my amazing Mama Ninja moves.. you know.. getting down really low and sneaking up to the crib to make sure she's okay. Yes - I still do that. Most people say it's because she's my first.. I think it might just be because I'm crazy.

Almost always, Oz our cat ends up sneaking into the room with me and then I have to scurry around to try to chase him out - which he thinks is a hide and seek game.. and before you know it, I crash into something and wake my daughter up. Not today though - Today I was a successful crazy cat lady. :)

Em LOVES drinking from her Bunny Cup. And it's of course.. from Target. :) {She also loves chewing on the ears, throwing it as far as she can, and smashing it down on her high chair tray.} 

A Personal Day.

So..  I took a Personal Day today from teaching and it was ahhh mazing. I mean.. all I did was clean our crazy house - which has been sadly neglected since Emersyn made her debut - but oh well - it's only been 10 months, right? :)

Em still went to her sitter so I could have some Mama time. I had a moment where I felt a little guilty - but I kept reminding myself that Mama's need some time too! I was amazed at how much I could get done with out our little Terminator  baby by my side.

All in all though.. I missed my little sidekick and was excited to pick her up. I seriously think she thought we moved into a brand new house considering the piles of laundry were gone {yes. I said pileS} and her toys were in a neat nice basket. {that only lasted for a hot second}.

My To-Do list actually got done today - which hasn't happened in a long time. I even managed to go to Starbucks and make a quick Target stop before picking her up.

And I'll let you in on a secret..  Target is a little bit of a problem for me.

Tonight, Em and I played around with some new headbands. Coral and White - Sparkles and Teal... Ahh. Sweet Spring - you aren't too far away! :) What do you think?

Just a little newborn

I just can't help it. Sometimes at night {when I should be grading papers} I look back on Emersyn's life. That's the beauty of this little Apple Computer. I can look at the events/pictures over the course of the year anytime I want. And lately - now that Em is getting close to a year - I just keep looking back at her little newborn pictures and all of the memories that have been created over this past year. I am just so thankful.

All of the laughs and firsts. All of the sleepless nights and stroller walks. Late night cuddling and early morning play time mixed in with baths and peek-a-boo.

Sometimes I get a little sad that everything is passing by so quickly.

But most of the time, I think about how blessed and lucky we are. I know that there is a theme in my posts lately - but I just can't help it. I really did love being pregnant.. but being a Mama.. that's been more than I could hope for.

Summer.. Come Back.

Okay okay.. I know I can't complain because I live in South Carolina and the temperature is considered cold if it's below 40 {We are weak}.. but I just can't wait until the weather gets a little warmer and school is out sweet summertime!

Last summer we were loving life {and extremely sleep deprived} taking care of our itty bitty newborn. This summer should be a whole new adventure with a toddler running around! Did I just say toddler? Is that really what Em is going to be considered soon? I don't believe it.

Last July - Our Itty Bitty 3 month old in her Itsy Bitsy Teeny Weeny Blue Polka Dot bikini One Piece.

Luckily - Her legs have gotten EVEN chunkier since July - which makes me want to squeeze them all of the time, along with her chubby cheeks. Ahh. I just love that lady.

Spring Baby

Ahh. Happy Friday Friends! I just love Fridays.. 

Em is getting SO CLOSE to walking! She'll let go and just stand there on her little chubby {adorable} legs.. but she won't take a step yet. I've tried to bribe her by holding cheerios in my hand and her favorite toy in the other...but no dice. She just drops to her bottom and speed crawls over to me and of course I hand the cheerios right over. She's just too cute. :) 

Her new favorite thing is pulling my hair and saying OW for me..not okay. Ha! Our little baby is trouble. :) 

She's also at the beginning stages of figuring out how to pull off her headbands. I've said this before, but I will NOT stand for that {like I have a choice..} :)
